Malaysia Airlines Ticket Center Opens at Skypark Subang Terminal
The brand new Malaysia Airlines ticket one-stop center at SkyPark Subang Terminal (formerly Terminal 3) officially opened its doors - offering greater convenience to its customers. Located on the mezzanine floor, this new office provides services for reservations, ticketing and other related services for Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, MASwings, Enrich, Golden Holidays, and more. Eight counters are open from 7am to 7pm daily. In officiating the momentous occasion, Minister of Tourism, Dato' Dr Ng Yen Yen lauded the national carrier's efforts in helping to build a strong and solid foundation for the country. "I was thrilled to hear about the launch of the MAS Stimulus Package, aimed at getting people to travel by providing a variety of options to suit the size of their wallet. The opening of this new ticketing office will certainly help to provide further push to this campaign.
"This is in line with our efforts at the ministry to ensure we optimize and maximize our efforts through joint projects and promotion efforts in Malaysia as well as in the current, new and emerging markets and catchments. In order to achieve this, both public and private sectors have to work closely with one another," she said.Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid said the development of Malaysia Airlines ticket offices is part of the national carrier's Business Transformation Plan (BTP 2) which focuses on making the most of resources in order to serve customers and partners better. "The Malaysia Airlines ticket office is an important place to meet and serve our customers whether they are individuals or travel agents. It gives us a great opportunity to communicate, have direct contact and serve our customers. "Although we officially open today, the systems have been up and running since a month ago. In fact, as of 5 May 2009, we have closed over 1,400 transactions, served over 600 customers and brought in sales worth RM321,000," he said. The new Malaysia Airlines ticket office in Skypark taps into the growing commercial and residential areas of Subang, Shah Alam, Ara Damansara, Kota Damansara, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Damansara Perdana, Kelana Jaya, Sunway, Klang and beyond. Currently, the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport area provides a catchment of private schools, commercial offices, aviation related companies & authorities, private airlines, government agencies such Customs, Immigration and the Department of Civil Aviation. "By year end, customers can enjoy even greater convenience when six Internet Booking Facility (IBF) kiosks are put in place. This will enable tickets to be purchased as early at 6.30am or as late as midnight, very much like the ATM bank or payment machines," added Dr. Munir during a showcase of the facility. There are 3 other Malaysia Airlines ticket offices, at KL Sentral, Putrajaya and at the main terminal building in KL International Airport. The ticketing office in Jalan Sultan Ismail was closed on 12 December 2008. (Malaysia Airlines)
